Grand Danois

The Grand Danois collection is an exclusive collection of frames representing our dedication to state-of-the-art craftsmanship, elegantly combined with our design philosophy. The collection consists of two product lines, expressed in a selection of precious metal plated frames - with and without diamonds

Preciously Plated

Gold

Our gold plated frames have a base layer with 2.5 microns of 24K gold and a top layer of 0.5 microns of 18K gold.

Ruthenium

Ruthenium is often used to to enhance the wear-resistance of metals. Small amounts of it can increase the hardness of palladium as well as the corrosion resistance of titanium. Our ruthenium plated frames have a base layer of 2.9 microns of 24K gold and a top layer with 0.1 microns of ruthenium.

Palladium

Equally valued as gold, it’s one of the most popular metals to be alloyed with gold to produce white gold. Palladium gives our frames their unique finish and colour. Our palladium plated frames have a base layer of 2.5 microns 24K gold and a top layer with 0.5 microns palladium.

Diamonds

The 4 C's

Since the 1940s, the GIA international Diamond Grading SystemTM has been used as the global standard to compare and evaluate diamonds. Cut, Clarity, Colour and Carat comprise the ‘Four Cs’, the universal method for assessing the quality of any diamond anywhere in the world.

1. Clarity

The diamonds in the GRAND DANOIS Collection are rated either VVS (Very,Very Slight) or VS (Very Slight) included, meaning the level of inclusions in the stone is so low and insignificant, that it is difficult for even a skilled grader to identify even with a magnifier.

2. Cut

To determine the cut grade GIA calculates the proportions of those facets that influence the diamond’s face-up appearance. All our diamonds are rated either ‘Very good’ or ‘Excellent’, which is the highest ranking possible.

3. Colour

The diamond colour evaluation is based on the absence of colour: the more colourless the diamond is, the higher is its value. Our diamonds are categorised as colourless reflecting superb quality. Regarding the black diamonds used in the collection they are all AAA quality, which is the highest quality available for black diamonds.

4. Carat

Diamond carat is a measurement of the weight of the diamonds. Our diamonds starts at X carat and our Grand Danois frames may have between 1-10 diamonds mounted depending on the model.
