A frame you can’t feel is a frame you stop thinking about. We get there the Danish way, by leaving out everything that isn’t needed, and the Japanese way, by making what’s left exactly right. It’s easier to feel than to read about, so try one on. The stores closest to you are below.
Ørgreen is an independent eyewear brand from Copenhagen, Denmark. We draw every frame in the Ørgreen Studio in Copenhagen and make them in three ways: Sheet Titanium, Acetate and Quantum High. Our titanium and acetate frames are made by hand in Japan.
Because we leave out what isn’t needed, then make what’s left with great precision. In Sheet Titanium, the front is pure titanium cut from a flat sheet, so it keeps its shape, and the temples are beta titanium, which gives a little flex and springs back. Imaginary Lines uses even more beta titanium for extra flex and less weight. Quantum High pairs a 3D-printed front, lighter than titanium, with flat titanium temples.
Titanium and 3D-printed frames are generally the lightest you can buy. At Ørgreen, Sheet Titanium, Imaginary Lines and Quantum High are all made to be barely felt.
If you wear glasses every day, usually yes. Titanium is light, strong and a titanium frame keeps its shape and finish far longer than most metal or plastic frames. It costs more at the start and pays that back in years of wear.
Pure titanium is one of the most skin-friendly metals used in eyewear. If metal frames usually bother your skin, a titanium frame is a good place to start.
Sheet Titanium is Ørgreen’s titanium collection. The front is cut from a flat sheet of pure Japanese titanium and shaped through around 100 separate processes in Japan; the temples are beta titanium, for flex. It’s light, strong and keeps its clean line for years.
Quantum High is Ørgreen’s 3D-printed collection: polyamide fronts with a soft, matte finish and temples in flat titanium bent into shape. It’s very light and allows shapes and colors that are hard to make any other way.
No. Ørgreen is only sold through selected opticians, and that’s a choice. A frame has to be fitted, adjusted and paired with the right lenses, and an optician does that better than any website. The stores closest to you are listed on this page.
