A thicker frame says more about you than almost anything else you wear, so we're careful with it. The Danish way is to give every bit of volume a reason; the Japanese way is to shape it until it feels right in the hand and on the face. You'll know in the mirror within seconds. Ørgreen is an independent eyewear brand from Copenhagen, Denmark. We draw every frame in the Ørgreen Studio in Copenhagen and make them in three ways: Sheet Titanium, Acetate and Quantum High. Our titanium and acetate frames are made by hand in Japan.
Statement glasses are frames with more presence than a classic pair: thicker rims, stronger shapes or a larger size. They change how your face reads, so they work best when the proportions are right.
Often, yes, if the width is right. A thick frame that's too wide is what overwhelms a face; one that matches your width just adds definition. Check the lens width on the frame, then try it on.
Ørgreen Acetate is our collection of colourful, sculpted frames. Acetate holds colour in depth, not just on the surface, so the layered combinations we design only show fully once the frame is on your face.
A little heavier than titanium. A well-made acetate frame spreads its weight across the nose and ears, so it sits comfortably all day. If lightness matters most to you, look at Sheet Titanium, Imaginary Lines or Quantum High.
Each frame is cut from acetate, then shaped and polished by hand in Japan. That handwork is what gives a thick frame soft, clean edges instead of a heavy, blunt look.
They’re the frame’s size in millimetres. On an Ørgreen frame marked 56 # 18 / 140, 56 is the lens width, 18 is the bridge between the lenses, and 140 is the length of the temple arm. Compare them with a pair you already wear, because a few millimetres make a real difference.
No. Ørgreen is only sold through selected opticians, and that’s a choice. A frame has to be fitted, adjusted and paired with the right lenses, and an optician does that better than any website. The stores closest to you are listed on this page.
